Course_Introduction

Electrical
engineering is a field of engineering
that deals with the science and technology of electricity, electronics, and
electromagnetism. It involves to design, construct, and maintain products,
services, and information systems. It is the historical name for what is
presently known as electrical, electronics, and computer engineering. Electrical engineering may include electronic engineering. The difference that lies between both is that electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits. Alternatively, electrical engineers are usually concerned with using electricity to transmit energy, while electronic engineers are concerned with using electricity to transmit information.
It is also the design and development of electrical systems and products. Depending on the flow of electrical power or charge, these products range from power plants to specialized robotics to household appliances. Like other types of engineering, electrical engineering combines creative initiative, invention, practicality, and technology to turn ideas into the tangible. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications.processes. |

Electrical engineers are concerned with the production and use of electricity. They work as Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Engineering Specialist,Chief Engineer,Quality Control Engineer, Software Engineer, Development Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Research Engineer,Systems Design Engineer, Field Engineer,Test Engineer and Sales Engineer. These positions require knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and methods and knowledge of related fields such as structural and mechanical engineering.
An electrical engineer is the one who designs, develops, and supervises the production of equipment, processes, systems, and subsystems that rely on electricity to work.Their work includes directing, reviewing, coordinating, and approving electrical engineering activities. They works with items like circuits, transformers, wiring, and electrical parts to meet project specifications and project deadlines. Electrical engineers conduct field surveys to investigate existing equipment layouts and conditions, analyze system needs, make calculations, and determine requirements. They prepare designs and layouts of electrical and mechanical systems with regard to size, space, capacities, and economy and provide technical specifications for electrical portions of construction, maintenance or repair projects which are to be accomplished by contract. |

Among the largest employers of electrical engineers are computer, telecommunications and consumer electronics companies. With good skills jobs can be obtained in small scale industries, big scale industries, companies and MNCs.
There are Many job opportunities available in production companies, electricity distribution companies, Power corporations, Hydro electricity, Designing industries, Natural gas plants, Petroleum, Steel and chemical industries for the electrical engineers. They are hired in professional environments, science, healthcare, communications, industry, and in technology based companies. They are also employed by power companies, telephone and telegraph companies, and firms that make electrical and electronic equipment. In addition, some engineers work for colleges and universities or construction or engineering firms. Defence and railways of Govt. sector are the most job provider for the electrical engineer. Examples of companies that hire electrical engineers include: Ford Motor Company, Sony, Philips, Microsoft, and Armstrong World Industries. |
