Course_Introduction
Mechanical engineering is one of the largest, broadest, and oldest engineering disciplines. It deals with design, analysis, manufacturing and production of tools, machines and all other mechanical equipment to be used in industries. Mechanical engineering is concerned with all types of machinery in industries and all aspects of their mechanism and functioning; the design, development, construction, production, installation, operation and maintenance; such as large steam and gas turbines, components of thermal power stations, internal combustion engines, jet engines, machine tools, air conditioning and heating machines, refrigerators etc to name a few. They not only design and create new products, but also develop materials for them and ways of making them.  The engineers have to ensure that components are functioning safely and optimally .This engineering field requires a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis.
Job_opprtunity
A mechanical Engineer can start their career as Junior Engineers and progressively grow as;  Assistant Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Executive Engineers, and Superintendent Engineers and so on.  Mechanics, kinematics, Mechatronics and robotics, Structural analysis, Thermodynamics and thermo-science are some of the disciplines of mechanical engineering. As a Mechanical engineer, The person designs and develops machines that produce energy, such as car engines and nuclear reactors, air conditioners, power saws, elevators, and printing presses. Mechanical engineers work on various types of equipment and machines ranging from tiny mechanisms for delicate instruments to huge gears for bulldozers. These professionals work closely with clients to understand what type of equipment the customer wants and then works with various computer programs including computer aided drafting programs like AutoCAD to design the equipment, part or mechanism. Working closely with the builder or production team the mechanical engineer troubleshoots the mechanism or piece of equipment and sends it to the customer.

Target_Industry
Many Govt., Public and Private sector company offers opportunities for the mechanical engineer. The Union Public Service Commission holds Engineering Services Examinations every year for appointments to various Central services. A mechanical engineer can start working with Posts and Telegraphs, Defense, PWD, and CPWD.  Railways offer a great no of opportunities for mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery. These engineers are also required in aeronautical, agricultural automobile, chemical, electronics, steel plants, oil exploration and refining, technical wings of armed forces, space research organization, etc. They also mostly required in automobile, chemical, electronics, steel plants, oil exploration and refining, technical wings of armed forces, space research organization, etc.
